Reforesting The Mind | Indigenous Vision For Climate Justice

In the framework of the World Geography Night 2022 occurring on Friday the 1st of April 2022, the International Master Programme on Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development (CCD-STeDe), together with the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the University of Padua are actively participating in the programme. The aim is to contribute to the dissemination and diffusion of geography and GIScience topics through didactic and scientific activities such as workshops and seminars.

Speakers

  • Joênia Wapixana | the first indigenous lawyer of Brasil and the first woman to become Federal Depute in 2018;
  • Telma Taurepang | General Coordinator of the Indigenous Women of Brazilian Amazon.

During this seminar we will have the pleasure of listening to the voices of these two women, activists, warriors, who will share their fights against ecocide and genocide, defending life and democracy not only for the indigenous land of the Amazon but for Brazil and the world. Reforesting the mind means reforesting dreams, relationships, solidarity, centrality and the future.
